The Gunston Weekly
Green & White Day
One of Gunston's favorite traditions took place on this past Wednesday, Green & White Day. The announcement of this day is always a surprise for the students. This year during morning meeting, math teacher Mr. Linn, who will be retiring this year, delivered the much anticipated news.
On this day students, faculty and staff divide into two teams and compete in activities that range from canoe races, tennis matches and a pie eating contest to the egg toss, sack races and ultimate frisbee. On the academic side, students compete in activities such as math competitions, translations, memorization contests, creative writing challenges, and more.

AIMS 5-Year Visit
Last week, a team from AIMS--the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools--visited Gunston for our 5-year accreditation visit. In preparation, Gunston's board, faculty, and leadership team put together a comprehensive report chronicling our progress on the goals we set for the school during our 10-year visit in 2011. We're happy to report that the day was successful, and congratulations to all members of the Gunston team who contributed to this significant effort!
