The conference, now in its second decade, serves as an opportunity for student leaders in independent schools to meet and discuss issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice. At the conference, Susie Fordi, Neel Patel, and Caroline Roser had the opportunity to meet with other student leaders to discuss privilege, immigration law, social media, and cross-cultural communication among other topics. Christie Grabis and David Miller attended the workshop for educators on approaches to diversity and inclusion in education. The students left the conference energized and excited to share what they've discussed with their peers in Gunston's Student Diversity Leadership Group. Gunston Qualifies for National Academic Team Competition For the second straight year, the Gunston School's performance at two recent academic quiz bowl tournaments at Johns Hopkins University and Centennial High School qualified the school to participate in the three-day NAQT Small School National Championship, which will be held in Chicago at the end of April. This tournament features the top public schools in the nation with enrollments of less than 500, and qualifying private and charter schools with enrollments of less than 350.
