Welcome to Gunston's Summer Programs! Summer programs and camps have existed on the Gunston campus many times over its 102-year history. This summer we embark again on a journey to bring alive our 32-acre waterfront campus during the summer months. Our camp committee is determined to offer excellent summer programs at Gunston. We strive to provide experiences that take advantage of our beautiful waterfront campus, gym, labs, classrooms, excellent faculty, pristine playing fields and cutting edge technology center. This summer's programs include:
-Summer Honors Academy-
Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra II, Algebra I & II Prep
Ages 12-17 take a full semester of Honors Geometry in four weeks; Honors Algebra II in six weeks. Algebra I or II Prep in August to get ready for the school year.
SAT Prep with The Princeton Review
Grades 10-12 receive the best individualized prep & instruction in test-taking strategies to achieve their best score.
SSAT Prep with The Princeton Review
For middle schoolers getting ready to take the Secondary School Aptitude Test.
-Outdoor Activity Camps-
Summer Fun & Sports
Ages 5-12, grouped by age, play varied games, sports, arts & activities led by caring counselors on our fields, gym & waterfront.
Water, Wonder & Wetlands
Ages 6-14 do a hands-on exploration of the Corsica River adjacent to campus and learn their impact on the Bay.
Try Tennis, Beginner & Beginner Plus
Ages 6-14 have a blast learning fundamentals, rules & strategy.
Think Like a Fish
Ages 8-16 experience kayak fishing with local outdoor guru Chris Dollar.
Pulling Together Rowing
Ages 9-17 are invited to try this growing sport on Gunston’s varsity equipment!
Ages 13-16 learn the ins and outs of being a camp counselor under the watchful eyes of senior counselors.
-Fine & Visual Arts-
Messy Masterpieces, Puzzles & Patterns
Ages 6-12 explore their world through various media & techniques...silly fun!
Gunston Players Theatre Camp
Ages 6-9 & 9-13 experience age-appropriate workshops on developing theatre skills, including movement, presence, diction & more.
-STEM Technology with LEGOTM-
Collision Cars, Gears & Gadgets, & Wacky Wheels
Ages 6-14, grouped by age, use special motorized Lego kits to solve challenges with principles of robotic engineering.
Programs are offered in full- and half-day sessions, to insure that families can participate in all the areas that interest them. Pre- and post-camp care is available for families who need an extended day. Relax this summer, knowing your children are safe, growing, making friends and having fun on Gunston’s well-appointed campus.
