Mrs. Jen Franks earned her B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland, and her law degree from Western Michigan Law School. During her career, she has occupied high-level roles in state government, including serving as Director of Communications for the Secretary of State and Governor of Maryland. As a longtime and dedicated substitute (and alumni parent ’25) at Gunston, she has superb familiarity with the Foundations of Civilization course content, as well as with Gunston’s traditions, advisory responsibilities, academic calendar, and daily routines.
