WIN 5

After trailing 3–1 at halftime, the Herons showed incredible determination, keeping their heads high and fighting back with heart, skill, and effort. In a thrilling comeback, the team tied the game in the final 11 minutes of the second half before surging ahead to hand Beth Tfiloh their first loss of the season.

Daniel Vives '28 (#27) led the offense with a spectacular hat trick. Declan Fermer '29 (#15) added a goal and an assist, while Lucas DeGour '29 (#31) sealed the victory with the fifth goal. Dylan Kroncke '27 (#11) contributed a key assist, and Ethan Harper '26 (#7) added two more to complete the comeback performance.

This hard-earned win secures the Herons a spot in the playoffs next week at home on Temple Field. The team would love to see the Gunston community come out and show their support as they continue their strong run in the MIAA C Conference season.

The Gunston Herons rowing team returned to the waters of Philadelphia on October 26th for the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, one of the premier events in the rowing world. This iconic 2.5-mile race on the Schuylkill River attracts thousands of rowers from across the country and beyond, providing a challenging test of endurance, technique, and teamwork.

This year, Gunston fielded three boats: the Women’s High School Fours with Coxswain (Varsity), the Men’s High School Eights (Varsity/First Boats), and the Men’s High School Eights (JV and Lower Boats). While the competition was fierce and the final placements didn’t reflect the Herons’ full potential, each crew demonstrated tremendous effort, determination, and growth throughout the regatta.

Though the results were modest, the weekend served as an important opportunity for the Herons to test themselves against some of the best rowing programs in the Mid-Atlantic region. The dedication, resilience, and camaraderie displayed by all rowers is a testament to the season-long commitment of the team and sets a solid foundation for continued growth in the years to come.

Herons Celebrate Historic Fall at 2025 Sports Awards Night

The Herons brought home three major championships this fall in Varsity Girls Soccer, Varsity Volleyball (the program's first!), and Girls Cross Country (Back-to-Back ESIAC Champions!). We were also proud to recognize three ESIAC Players of the Year and nearly 93% of the student body who participated in athletics.
