We are pleased to announce that several Gunston juniors and seniors have been recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) for the 2023-2024 school year! 

The National Academic Squad recognizes juniors and seniors with an unweighted GPA of 3.5-4.0. The following athletes were named to academic squad:

• Samantha Jayne ’24
• Victoria MacGlashan ’25
• Caitlin Myers ’24
• Grace Shepherd ’25
• Anna Szwaja ’24
• Drew Tolley ’24

A Scholar of Distinction is achieved through an unweighted GPA of 3.9-4.0. The following athletes have earned scholars of distinction.

• Caitlin Myers ’24

The Senior Impact Team Award requires student-athletes had to meet three of five character criteria, encompassing aspects such as community service and leadership roles, along with five of ten athletic criteria. The impact of the graduating class of 2024 has been noteworthy, with members contributing significantly to their communities through leadership roles and volunteer work with various charitable organizations. On the field, these seniors have not only showcased success but have also exemplified commendable sportsmanship, with many guiding their teams to postseason competitions. Only 180 students were named to this team and they included:
