On the sunny and (very) hot weekend of June 5, Gunston triathletes competed in the Rock Hall Triathlon Festival. Five triathletes competed in the sprint distance triathlon on Sunday. The hotter conditions and a field of nearly 1000 athletes over the course of the two days made for more challenging conditions than the previous races throughout the year. However, the triathletes maintained their poise and competed hard to earn competitive finishes.
 
Ninth graders, Zoe Buzzelli and Allie Fitzgerald, finished in third and fifth respectively in the 15-19 female division. Zach Mozher earned first place in the 15-19 male division while Colin Hallmark suffered a flat tire on the bike leg and was unable to finish. Aidan Trautman also competed in the sprint distance race.
