Gunston Celebrates Successful 7th Annual Golf Tournament
Golfing Fore Gunston VII Tournament Results 2026

The Gunston School held its annual Golfing “fore” Gunston tournament on May 1 at Queenstown Harbor, bringing together nearly 20 teams of parents, grandparents, alumni, board members, and community friends. The event raised $38,000 for the school’s annual giving program, which directly supports student and faculty programming.

The outing was led for the second year in a row by Event Chair Brigitte Stranahan, P’25’27, with support from a dedicated group of parent volunteers. Under clear blue skies and warm spring weather, golfers enjoyed optimal conditions across the 18-hole course.

“The support we receive through this tournament allows the school to secure vital resources and opportunities for our students and faculty,” said Head of School John Lewis. “We began this tournament during COVID when an outdoor fundraiser was the only option—in fact, as I recall, we had two golf tournaments that year! Now in its seventh year, I am always touched by how many players come back, and delighted to see all the new faces.”

The day began with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and featured several on-course highlights, including a “Hole in 2” challenge on a Par 5 with Professional Long Driver Scott Kalamar. Following the round, golfers gathered for an awards ceremony to recognize the day’s top performers.

Taking home the First Place Men’s Team title was the foursome of Gunston Board of Trustee member Tom Hipp, Rudy Laveran, Charlie Pilkington, and Chris Springer. In the Mixed category, the team from Easton Dermatology Associates—comprising Dr. Donald and Brigitte Stranahan, and Kim and Craig Zwobot—secured the top spot. Winners were awarded golf-club-shaped bourbon and vodka sets paired with Yeti shot glasses.

Individual skill awards recognized both power and precision on the course. Trent Riggs earned the Men’s Longest Drive and a new range finder, while Kristen Madairy took home a decanter set for the Women’s Longest Drive. Julie Dixon was awarded a future foursome at Queenstown for being Closest to the Pin, and the “Last Place” honors went to Dominic Rizzuto, Tod Smith, Jack Morris, and Ty Lannon, who received mini indoor desk golf sets and Fireball whisky.
