Despite the soggy weather today, it really was a beautiful day! We started the day with Mr. Johnnie Johnson, VP of Enrollment Management at Washington College meeting with our 11th grade class to discuss the college admissions process — offering some insight and direction about what to expect and how to best approach this experience, as well as Mrs. Sharon Lidle, Assistant Director of Admissions at Dickinson College providing a faculty workshop and discussion regarding letters of recommendation for their students in the college admission process.
Later in the day we enjoyed some quality time with colleagues over dinner in Centreville, prior to the 3rd Annual Gunston College Admission Panel. The panel included Admission Officers from Queens University of Charlotte, University of Maryland College Park, Dickinson College, Salisbury University, American University and Washington College. There were approximately 70 attendees at tonight’s program and we are very grateful for our colleagues on the college side of the desk for taking time out of their extremely busy schedules to be with us, and our families for their participation.
“College is a singular opportunity to rummage through and luxuriate in ideas, to give your brain a vigorous workout and your soul a thorough investigation, to realize how very large the world is and to contemplate your desired place in it.”
