Changes to AP Exam Calendar for Spring 2021

Changes to AP Exam Calendar for Spring 2021

Greetings AP Students,

Due to the pandemic, the College Board has decided to alter and add to the AP Exam Calendar this year. Thanks to Gunston's Academic Calendar and ability to conduct AP exams on campus, we'll have AP testing in person via the traditional paper method during the 1st administration window from Monday, May 3rd through Monday, May 17th.

Last year, AP exams were only offered online. Despite the fact that we have a small community, our students had more digital glitches than students at other schools in the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools thanks to connectivity issues, which is why we're embracing the opportunity to return to the traditional paper format.

The very small number of AP students who have been concurrent learners all year, engaging in Distance Learning since the pandemic began, will be contacted by Mrs. Grabis regarding AP testing.

International students studying abroad will either be taking their exams in person at a school near their home—if they have registered for this already—or via digital, at-home testing during the 3rd administration window, from Monday, June 7th through Friday, June 11th.

Please note, College Board has announced that digital exams will be just as long and extensive as paper exams this year.

Please check your emails for communications from Mrs. Grabis and me, as those with extenuating circumstances will be contacted directly!

Sincerely,

Ms. Webb

Director of College Guidance
