Throughout the spring semester, ornithologist Dr. Paul Spitzer will visit with Ms. Vesnaver's Wilderness Literature class, Ms. Skirkanich's Coastal Resilience class, Ms. Windmiller's Environmental Art class, Mr. Dize's Wood Carving class, and Mrs. Showalter's Biology classes.
During Dr. Spitzer's last visit in late February, he presented about wildlife art with Wilderness Lit while also sharing wonderful anecdotes and stories from his own life and career. Next, Ms. Windmiller's class went outside with Dr. Spitzer for an ecology lesson. Dr. Spitzer began his career completing important research on the impact of DDT on osprey populations. That work is just a small sampling of his impressive career.
We are excited to have such a skilled and enthusiastic ecologist working with our students this spring!
