Green & White Day Spring 2021 Highlights

Green & White Day Spring 2021 Highlights

The spring season has been typical Maryland. Beautiful days followed by rain followed by some cold and dampness, circling back to more sunshine. However throughout inconsistency, a bright spot emerged as the spring Green and White Day festivities were had last week. While the day looked markedly different with additional safety protocols, Green and White Day favorites, canoe races, outdoor games (soccer, kickball, and volleyball), and relay races were spread throughout the campus with students buzzing from one activity to the next.

The spirit of Green and White Day is still just as magical as it was four years ago, and in my opinion, the perfect medicine for a bad case of pandemic blues. - Sydney Nittle, White Team Captain

Early results came pouring in with scores of points being accumulated by both teams. Kickball and relay races were landslide victories for the white team as the green team gained quickly in the canoe races, academic events, pie eating, and tennis.

Despite an early morning fog delay that shortened the day's activities, senior green team captains, Max Brady and Isabella Adams, and senior white team captains, Campbell Parkhurst and Sydney Nittle, were all over the campus directing traffic and getting students to their respective competition locations.

During times where it’s hard to find ways to come together as a community, Green and White Day is a day in which we get that feeling back. Going out and competing with and against our classmates will always be the highlight of my year, and I’m happy to have been a part of another successful one this spring. - Campbell Parkhurst, White Team Captain

While the results continue to be close between the respective teams, one more event has yet to be had, War Games. This event will take place sometime throughout the spring. Stay tuned!
