On Saturday, December 2, Gunston's Academic Team traveled to Richmond, Va. for the VCU Winter Tournament XIV at Virginia Commonwealth University. After an early stumble, the team roared back to win their final three games for a 5-4 record, earning a 5th place finish in a tough division. The team included Seniors Turner Day and Trevor Green, and Juniors Justin McCubbin and Lily Brantner. During the tournament, Justin McCubbin scored 265 total points, making him the 3rd highest scorer in Gunston' Academic Team history, and Trevor Green passed the 1,000 point park, becoming only the 7th player in team history to reach this mark. The team will return to action after the New Year!
