Senior Paradigm
The Senior Paradigm Project is the final graduation requirement of Gunston’s comprehensive Writing Project. This interdisciplinary, summative narrative challenges seniors to reflect on their time at Gunston and define their own personal "language of values."
Through this project, students synthesize the academic knowledge, critical skills, athletic experiences, and personal growth they have acquired across all areas of campus life—including special programs like Bay Studies—to examine how their worldview has been shaped.
The Core Reflection
Students choose a minimum of three key moments of insight across any combination of the following areas:
- Experiences: Significant moments, milestones, or challenges at Gunston that transformed or impacted them.
- Knowledge: Specific ideas, authors, or historical events studied in class that deeply influenced their thinking.
- People: Faculty, staff, peers, or mentors who helped shape their view of the world.
