Student Diversity Leadership Club (SDLC) Conference
This past Saturday, the Student Diversity Leaders of Gunston attended the Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference. Hosted this year by the Key School, the conference is an opportunity for students to collaborate, talk about current events, and work together to make positive change in the world. This year's keynote speaker was Dr. Joshua Bennett, a critically-acclaimed poet and scholar at Dartmouth. In his address, Dr. Bennett reminded the students of the value and necessity of their voices in the political process. The students then broke out into workshops that focused on a variety of topics including climate change, sports, social media, and more. Gunston's attendees were Michell Pagan, Marisa Pisapia, Isabella Santoboni, Reagan Gessford, Emma McClary, Rion Mccluskey, and Neva Lawrence. Mr. Miller and Ms. Ferguson also participated in the faculty conference where they attended a panel of independent school alumni called "What I Wish My Independent School Teachers Had Told Me".
