TGS WATER CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS

CONCLUSIONS FROM THE DATA

BOTTOM LINE…USE A WATER BOTTLE AND DON'T DRINK OUT OF A FOUNTAIN!

  1. The average person, when drinking from a water fountain, opposed to using a water bottle, wastes 19.2% of the water.
  2. This percentage comes to 3.84 ounces of water wasted from a 20 ounce bottle.
  3. In one weeks time, we consumed 196 water bottles from our fountain, wasting 3920 ounces, or 30.6 gallons.
  4. Over the course of a school year, drinking from a fountain will waste 1,101.6 gallons of water.

Global Awareness Day

Friday, March 1

A wonderful feature of our Global Awareness Day program each year is the International Buffet. This year, the Global Culture Club has planned to have desserts from around the world and we hope to have samplings from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America. We invite all families to join in by providing a "global dessert" that can be stored and served at room temperature.

If you are able to participate, please send your dessert in with your child on Friday, March 1. We will be collecting the desserts in the gym. Include the name of the dessert, the continent, and the ingredients (allergy restrictions). Recyclable containers are welcomed, but if you send in your personal dishware, please include a label so that we may return the item to you.

As with all celebrations, food makes the event special. We thank you in advance for your contributions.

Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Families,

I thought it would be helpful to send an updated list of Summer Programs for High School Students for your consideration.  This is a great opportunity to explore your academic interests to see what you may want to study after high school.  Many colleges offer programs like this, so if you don't see a school you're excited about on this list, please feel free to check out the website for that particular institution.  I hope this helps!

Seniors and Families,
Please remember to email me when you receive decisions regarding your college admission applications or scholarships you receive.  This information will be used to assist future seniors in their college admissions process.  Thanks to your help, they will have a better idea regarding their odds for acceptance at particular institutions and what they can anticipate when it comes to financing their education.  Your personal information won't be shared with others, but the admissions and scholarship data will be extremely helpful to future classes. Thank you for your help with this!
