Gunston Parents' Association

About the GPA
The Parents' Association supports and enhances the school community through programs and activities involving parents, students, faculty, and staff. It also provides an open, ongoing two-way communication channel between the parents and administration of the School which benefits Gunston as well as the parents. The Parents' Association sponsors a number of activities and encourages parents to become involved in the planning, execution, and enjoyment of each one.

February GPA Meeting
Wednesday, February 10th @12 noon

The GPA is holding a virtual meeting —let’s have lunch together! All are welcomed to attend, we are going to discuss our upcoming fundraising events. If you have any questions please contact Trish Rudolfs, trudolfs@gunston.org.

Upcoming Volunteer Needs:

Parents, we could use your help during the school day. Your help will provide much needed breaks for the teachers during the school day.

 Responsibilities May Include:

  • Study Halls - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:25- 2:30 (times of coverage will be determined by volunteer availability). Study Halls will be a designated space where students can work on assignments and to visit and talk with friends, (6ft apart of course!) These groups will consist of faculty proctors that will phase in as their grade levels do. Your duties are to help the proctors supervise the students.

  • Covering virtually taught classes - On days when a teacher cannot physically be on campus and are teaching remotely, supervision will be needed in the classroom (times of coverage will be determined by volunteer availability).

  • Other items as they arise - As we evaluate our new protocols, we may find that volunteer support is needed in areas we did not initially predict.

I know it is winter and cold outside, we have heaters in the tent and will make every effort to rotate you inside if you are here longer for one class, (Please remember to dress warmly, Hats, Gloves, Boots the whole nine yards!) In the meantime, just like any school employee, we will need background information to be completed and returned to Becky Schmier in the Business Department. Gunston will cover the costs of fingerprinting. Please contact trudolfs@gunston.org for the required forms.
