Fernando Cruz DeLeon, MD

Dr. DeLeon received his medical degree from Boston University and completed his fellowship, residency and internship at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care. Dr. DeLeon’s clinical interests include COPD, smoking cessation, pulmonary fibrosis and asthma.

Dr. DeLeon has robust experience, not only treating pulmonary diseases, but researching them. His most recent research interests include the treatment of COPD and asthma and the management of chronic lung infections. He has been in practice for more than 20 years.


 

Nina Wagner-Johnston, MD

Dr. Nina Wagner-Johnston’s areas of clinical expertise include non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, and HIV-related lymphomas. Dr. Wagner-Johnston received her B.S in nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She earned her MD and completed her residency training at the University of Chicago, Chicago Illinois. 

She performed a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Wagner-Johnston joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2015. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wagner-Johnston was an Assistant Professor at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Her research interests include clinical trial and biomarker development for patients with lymphoma. She is additionally involved in palliative/supportive care research and has a particular interest in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy.  


 

Suzanne (Sue) Steele PA-C

Sue Steele is currently affiliated with Anne Arundel Medical Center and has been practicing family medicine for 22 years, 15 of those years have been on the Eastern Shore. At Eastern Shore Primary Care, Steele treat patients of all ages with acute and chronic conditions. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, while doing my best to keep them physically and mentally well.”


 

Heather Watson, PhD, MSN, BSN

Nurse Scientist, Johns Hopkins Hospital System

Heather Watson has worked in the healthcare industry since 2004 and the Johns Hopkins Medical system for 12 years in various roles, including as a registered nurse, a nursing faculty member, a Senior Research Nurse and most recently as a Nurse Scientist. In 2019, Watson completed her Doctor of Philosophy, Nursing from The Catholic University of America. 

“My career in nursing has been incredibly rewarding and challenging. I have explored the many different facets my profession has to offer from bedside care, to teaching, to research, and have come away from all my experiences richer and ready to meet the next challenge in my career. My ultimate goal is always to improve outcomes for patients and enable nurses to fulfill their passion for caring.”


 

Angela (Angie) Lord BSN, RN NE-BC

Angie has worked at Bayhealth Medical Center for the past 10 years, most recently as their Director of Patient Flow & Capacity Management following service as a Surgical ICU nurse and supervisor, Angie also volunteers as Camp Nurse for the YMCA Camp Tockwogh and teaches at Chesapeake College as a Clinical Instructor. She is known professionally for her longtime dedication to patient care and best practices in healthcare. Angie is pleased to join the Health Advisory Team to collaborate with parents and the administrative team on best next steps for Gunston’s future following the Covid 19 crisis.
