Ways to Give
There are a number of different ways to make your gift to TGS, including gifts of cash, pledges, securities, matching gifts, charitable gift annuities, and other options. The Advancement Office welcomes the opportunity to meet with you individually to discuss your charitable giving plans.
Gifts of Cash: The overwhelming majority of gifts to The Heron Annual Fund are gifts of cash. Gifts can be through our secure online giving system using your MasterCard, Visa, or Discover card or check.
Pledges: Pledges allow you to consider a larger gift to Gunston by spreading your commitment and payments out over a period of up to five years. Pledge installments can be set up as recurring credit card payments or we can send you electronic or regular mail pledge reminders at regular intervals. Set up a Pledge today!
Securities: Gifts of appreciated securities can be particularly beneficial to both you and Gunston. Securities held for more than one year may be tax-deductible for their fair market value on the day of the gift. Please contact the Advancement Office for more detailed information about donating securities.
Matching Gifts: Many corporations will match employee charitable contributions up to two times the value of the gift. Speak with someone in your Human Resources Office to see if you company participates in the matching gift program. The Advancement Office is also happy to help you decide if you work for a matching gift company.
Charitable Gift Annuities: A charitable gift annuity is a contract between the school and the donor that provides the school with a significant gift of cash, securities, or other assets, for which the school agrees to pay the donor a fixed amount over their lifetime.
Bequests: A gift through your will or estate is the easiest gift to make! Lean more here.
For further information about these, and other, giving opportunities, please contact the Advancement Office. If you are considering any major or long-term gift to the school, it is always best to consult an attorney or other professional advisor.
